Eco hotels offer their guests Food, health and vitality. The Penrhos Court Hotel in England, whose restaurant was voted Best Organic Restaurant of The Year in 2002, offers food which is organically grown and of the highest quality. To go with the food, there is a list of wines from organic growers. There is a shop within the hotel, which sells eco organic products, including trees, herbs and seeds, supplements and even clothes which are created using organically grown rare breed wool. Along with these, there are organic skin salves and tinctures. Meetings can be held at the hotel, which is an inspiring place for ecological and organic organisations.

The Turtle Bay Beach Club, in Kenya, is an eco hotel which has been awarded the Bronze rating from the Eco-Tourism Society of Kenya. The hotel has an eco policy which staff follow in order to remain environmentally friendly and to improve the surroundings for their guests. Water consumption is monitored daily, along with water leakage. There are aims to limit water usage, such as watering the gardens at night with recycled water, calculating water consumption per night, and investigation into the use of low pressure shower nozzles.

Turtle Bay Beach Club also has aims to save energy, including monitoring daily energy consumption, adjusting thermostats to a certain level, limiting how often bed sheets are changed, installing energy efficient light bulbs into 50% of the hotel, and making sure that room lights are switched off. Organic waste and paper is composted, milk packets are re-used for seedlings, any candles used are to be melted and remoulded rather than disposed of. Also included in the hotel’s policy is providing a suitable environment for animals, and to install more bins in the main areas of the hotel.
